- The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is on the lookout for a blue Polaris RZR 900s side by side. The vehicle was stolen from the area of Ball Ground Road and Glenn Wilkie Trail. If you have any information on the vehicle or the theft, please contact the Cherokee Sheriff's Criminal Investigation unit at 770-928-0239 or 911 and reference case #S022-03532. - A new car was gifted on Wednesday to Ezra King and his family by Syfan Logistics, a shipping and trucking company based in Gainesville. Ezra's father is a police officer with the Woodstock Police Department, and Ezra himself was named a Woodstock PD Junior Officer before his most recent surgery to remove a portion of tumor. The local child battling brain cancer and his family will be using the car to get Ezra to and from appointments. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
- Reformation Brewery is hosting the 2022 Cadence Fair on October 22. The all-day fair will feature live music, local makers, lots of food and beer along with fire breathing, aerial stunts and stilt walkers from The Inverted Circus. Live music will be playing all day and there will be a Maker's Mash starting at 11 a.m. featuring local vendors. The free event is family friendly. (Reformation Brewery)
- The Cherokee County School District sent out its October newsletter this week. There is a lot of information included in this month's newsletter including the latest graduation rates in the county, a request for local companies to partner with the school, SAT scores, the district's theater season and much more. Speaking on the graduation rate of the county's students, the class of 2022 saw the highest graduation rate yet, with all but one school noting over 90% of the students graduating. - The Service League of Cherokee County will be holding its 19th annual Reindeer Run for the Children 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run on December 10 at Etowah River Park in Canton. Registration is now open online. You can also sign up to be a Santa's Helper or a sponsor of the event. The top participating school will receive a $1,000 donation and all other proceeds will go to our county's children in need. - There will be utility work going on until this afternoon on East Main Street. The area from Arnold Mill Road to Wheeler Street will be detoured through the former Ace Hardware parking lot. Delays are expected in the area. (Woodstock via Facebook)
- The Back Hand Comedy Festival promises to be tons of fun, with shows all weekend around Downtown Woodstock. Please check out the festival page for show schedules. - Cherokee Recreation and Parks has put the request out for volunteers to help create a new trail at Cherokee Veterans Park on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
