HOLLY SPRINGS, GA — Holly Springs police are still searching for two suspects who led cops on a chase that ended with a fiery crash in Cobb County.
An officer was injured early Monday following the pursuit that spanned two counties early Monday. The incident began around 1:30 a.m. Dec. 10 when a Holly Springs officer tried to pull over a van for a suspected traffic violation on Interstate 575.
The Ford Econoline did not pull over, which led to the pursuit, said Holly Springs police Detective Greg Bettis. Bettis said the vehicle, which was bearing a government license plate that was registered to a trailer in Gwinnett County, continued southbound through Woodstock and into Cobb County. A Holly Springs officer initiated a PIT maneuver at the I-575/I-75 merge, which brought an end to the chase.
