- Several groups have banded together, forming the team called "Convoy of Care" to help the communities affected by Hurricane Ian. The Convoy of Care team consists of media stations and channels, law enforcement, the non-profit organization Caring for Others and the Georgia Motor Trucking Association. The team is looking for donations of specific new items, including personal hygiene products for all ages — socks, underwear, diapers, wipes, infant formula and cleaning supplies. There is a drop-off location in Woodstock at the First Baptist Church, 11905 Highway 92, on the Gunnin - Trickum Road side. The site will be open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Monday, October 3. There are also two drop-off locations in Atlanta. If you'd like, here is a link to make monetary donations to be used on supplies for those in need. (WSB Radio)
- The Cherokee County Health Department is holding its annual Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic on Tuesday, October 4 for those aged 18 and up. Head over to the Woodstock Health Center from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. for the clinic, located at 7545 North Main Street. Many insurance companies cover the shot fully, but for uninsured the cost is $25 for a regular flu vaccine and $65 for a high-dose flu vaccine for those aged 65 and up. The vaccines offered guard against four strains of the flu. The clinic accepts insurance, cash, checks and credit cards. Check the North Georgia Health District website for more information. - The last Unwind Wednesday is being held on October 5 at Cherokee Veterans Park, 7345 Cumming Highway, Canton. This last event is going to be Halloween themed — it's fall, after all. Trunk or Treat will be going on from 5:30 - 8 p.m. Head over to the park for food trucks, desserts, trunk or treat, games and more. If you would like to hand out goodies in the trunk or treat, please arrive to the park at 5 p.m. to set up. (Cherokee Recreation and Parks)
- The Scarecrow Invasion is here! It's time to head downtown to see all the scarecrows. You can vote for your favorite scarecrow for $1 a vote starting this coming Monday through the end of October at the visitors center located at 8588 Main Street. The proceeds from the Scarecrow Invasion will be donated to INSeason, the IN WDSTK design committee that creates and implements design initiatives in the downtown area like the annual downtown holiday decorations. - After scoring a 64 and an unsatisfactory (U) rating on a health inspection early in September, Salt Factory Pub on Main Street has been praised for scoring a 94 upon re-inspection. Atlanta News First included the restaurant in an article discussing notably high and low restaurant scores around the Metro Atlanta area. (Atlanta News First)

- Essential Gardening - Fall Bulbs: please register for this demonstration online. Learn about planting bulbs in the fall to get a spring harvest or bloom at the WGLSC Activity Center Expansion, 223 Arnold Mill Road. (10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.)
- Yoga On Tap: the beginner yoga session includes a free pint or coffee, please bring a mat and water. The $20 class fee can be paid at the door of Reformation Brewery, 105 Elm Street. (10 - 11:30 a.m.)
- Kids Corner: It's Corn! I Can't Imagine a More Beautiful Thing! Create fall decorations with beads and check out the Paper Cuts exhibit. Please register online for the event at Reeves House Studio, 734 Reeves Street. (10:30 a.m.)
- Kimberly Garrett Brown In-Person: the author of "Cora's Kitchen" will be at FoxTale Book Shoppe, 105 E. Main Street, Suite 138. (1 - 3 p.m.)
- Youth / Teen Talent Showcase: every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, "showcase and practice your talent, build confidence in front of a live audience" at Payton Jean Marie, 9550 Main Street. (1 - 4 p.m.)
- Oktoberfest at The Outlet Shoppes: live music, cornhole and more at 915 Ridgewalk Parkway. (1 - 5 p.m.)
- WDSTKtoberfest Pub Crawl: grab an entry form from the first restaurant you visit, get a stamp at each restaurant you visit, and once you get 5 stamps, you can redeem them for a boot glass at the Visit Woodstock GA tent. The tent closes at 7 p.m. Please see the list of participating restaurants here. (2 - 6 p.m.)
- Golf Cart Poker Run: take a ride in your golf cart in Downtown Woodstock along a designated route, collect a poker hand after you've stopped at 5 predetermined spots and end at Reformation Brewery for music, prizes and more. Registration is 1 - 2 p.m. in the backyard. The Hearsay will perform 5 - 8 p.m. All proceeds go towards the Cherokee Shriners Children's Burn Unit. Please see the listing for more details. - Oktoberfest Party: starting at 2 p.m., enjoy music, beer, local vendors and Queenie's BBQ at Reformation Brewery, 105 Elm Street. (2 - 11 p.m.)
- LEGO Design a Monster Challenge: LEGOs will be provided, children of all ages are welcome to the event at Rose Creek Library, 4476 Towne Lake Parkway. (3 - 4:30 p.m.)
- Classic Movie Matinee: watch "Night of the Living Dead" (1968, Not Rated). Popcorn and refreshments will be provided, all ages are welcome to the event at Woodstock Library, 7735 Main Street. (3 - 5 p.m.)

- The 5th Annual Woodstock International Food Festival is scheduled for October 8 and 9, noon - 7 p.m. on both days. There will be homemade foods, vendors, games, music and fun at the festival run by the St. Elizabeth Orthodox Church. You can view the festival menu online and pre-order a drive-thru option instead, if you'd like, through this link. All are welcome to the festival at the church located at 2265 East Cherokee Drive. - If you're looking for a new pet, make sure to check out the adoption event at the Cherokee County Animal Shelter at 10 a.m. today.
