ACWORTH, GA — One man is dead and another is hospitalized following a single-vehicle accident Thursday in Cherokee County. Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office responded to the collision on Bells Ferry Road near Robin Road just before 5 p.m. Oct. 11.

A preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the vehicle, 34-year-old Jonathan Harris of Woodstock, lost control of the BMW, and the vehicle left the roadway and crashed, said Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jay Baker.

The passenger in the vehicle, 42-year-old Gary Bullard, also of Woodstock, was ejected from the convertible. Both men were injured and transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. Bullard later died of his injuries, and Harris remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
