Bank Robbery Suspects Arrested Following Police Chase
The armed robbery was reported Tuesday afternoon at BB&T at 936 Towne Lake Parkway in Woodstock.

WOODSTOCK, GA — Two men accused of robbing a bank were apprehended Tuesday afternoon following a police chase extending from Woodstock to southwest Cherokee County, police said.
Woodstock police spokesperson Sgt. Randy Milligan said the subjects entered BB&T at 935 Towne Lake Parkway around midday Dec. 4. One of the male subjects allegedly brandished a firearm and held up bank employees, Milligan told Patch.
The subjects fled the bank in a vehicle, but were soon tailed by Woodstock police and deputies from the Cherokee Sheriff's Office. The chase continued towards the Acworth area of Cherokee County.

According to the Georgia State patrol, sheriff's deputies were pursing the subjects in a vehicle traveling northbound on Bells Ferry Road. They tried to perform a PIT maneuver, but were unsuccessful. The vehicle then continued south on Bells Ferry Road until it reached Ga. 92. The alleged robbers turned right onto the state highway and continued westbound.
Sheriff's deputies and Woodstock officers continued the pursuit until a Woodstock cop performed a successful PIT maneuver near the Woodstock Road intersection. The pair, identified as Rene Rivera, 40, and Luis Sandoval, 21, both of Marietta, were taken into custody.

They are each charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and remain held without bond at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
