Registration Opens For Guns & Hoses 5K
The annual race raises money for charities chosen by the Cherokee Sheriff's Office and Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services.

WOODSTOCK, GA — Runners and walkers alike can now register for the annual Guns & Hoses 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run, which raises money for nonprofit organizations chosen by two public safety agencies.
The event will be held Feb. 23, 2019, at Hobgood Park, and is designed to raise money for organizations selected by Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services and the Cherokee Sheriff's Office.
Cherokee County fire will participate on behalf of Goshen Valley Boys Ranch while the sheriff's office will raise money for the Cherokee Sheriff's Foundation.

When you register for the race, you will choose the team — Cherokee Sheriff's Office or Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services — you want to represent. A portion of your fee will go towards that agency's chosen charitable organization.

Shirts will be made available in race packets for all 5K participants only, and size selections are
only guaranteed for those who register by Feb. 8, 2019. All 1-mile Fun Run participants will earn a commemorative medal. For the 5K race, awards will be given in both male and female divisions and in a variety of age groups.
You can visit the Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency's website to register for the race. The cost is $10 for the fun-run and $25 for the 5K. Please note that the price for each respective race will increase by $5 after Feb. 8. The fun-run begins at 7:30 a.m. while the 5K starts at 8 a.m.
