Rogers Discusses Balanced Budget

Sen. Chip Rogers provides an update from the ninth week of the 2012 Legislative Session.

Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) provides a weekly video with legislative updates addressing key points that affect Cherokee County residents.

This week he discusses Senate Resolution 673 which passed the Senate Wednesday 30-20. SR 673 purposes a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

The resolution recommends the total of all federal appropriations made by the Congress for any fiscal year may not exceed that total of all estimated federal revenue for that fiscal year. An exception would be made during the state of a national emergency.
