  1. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is searching for two men involved in an assault at a county Waffle House. Pictures are posted online of the men and a truck caught on video. Please take a look to see if anyone looks familiar and if so, please contact the sheriff's office at 770-928-0235. (WSB-TV)
  2. The North Georgia Health District has received limited doses of the Jynneos vaccine against monkeypox and is now offering the vaccine by appointment only. The vaccines are available to high-risk individuals, 18 and over. If you have been in contact with an identified case of monkeypox in the last 14 days, are HIV positive, have multiple male same-sex partners, or are on pre-exposure prophylaxis for the prevention of HIV, please read through the information available online and register for an appointment. There are two vaccination sites, one in Dalton and one in Woodstock at the Woodstock Health Center on Main Street. (Dalton Daily Citizen)
  3. Several officers from the Woodstock PD were recognized with Life Saving Awards on Monday. During a meeting with the Mayor and City Council, officers Hinkle, Brown, Dixon, Bitzer and Gross were honored for their emergency medical assistance and life-saving efforts during calls in April, May and June of this year. As part of the ongoing Bells Ferry, Kellogg Creek, Victory Drive intersection improvement project, Victory Drive will be closed at the Kellogg Creek Road intersection starting September 12 and running through September 25. Traffic will be detoured through Woodstock Road and Kellogg Creek Road. Any questions can be directed to the Cherokee County Roadway Capital Program at 678-493-6077. (Cherokee County via Facebook)

  • The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce is holding a "Power Hour" networking event at the Chamber Board Room at 3605 Marietta Highway in Canton.   • "Family Storytime" will be going on at both the Rose Creek Library and Woodstock Library this morning. The event is for children of all ages - enjoy stories, songs, dancing and more, children must be accompanied by an adult. (10:30 a.m.)
  • "Toddler Sensory Snack and Play: Bugs, Bugs, Bugs!" will be at the R.T. Jones Memorial Library in Canton. For children 0 to 4 years old, the event does not include actual bugs but does include play, snacks, music and more. Children must be accompanied by an adult. (10:30 a.m.)
  • A Ribbon Cutting for NuSpine Chiropractic will be taking place at 2295 Towne Lake Parkway this morning. (11 a.m.)
  • "Trivia with Lights Up! Entertainment" takes place every Wednesday at Reformation Brewery Woodstock. (7 p.m.)
  • "Summer Bakes" is a hands-on class at Leaning Ladder on Main Street. Please registeronline. (7 p.m.)
  • "Wine Pairing Dinner, Exploring Spain & Portugal" is Rootstock's monthly pairing dinner in The Listening Room. You can purchase tickets online. (7 p.m.)
  • "Hyper Street Fighter 2 Tournament" at Blue Ghost Arcade on Towne Lake Parkway is a 1v1 PS5 double-elimination tournament. (8 p.m.)
