Here are the top three stories in Woodstock-Towne Lake today:
- The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is looking for a suspected car thief out of Acworth. A 2007 Toyota Camry went missing last week and the suspect is Brian McClure. The vehicle was seen on surveillance video Sunday at 5:09 p.m. on Bells Ferry Road near Butterworth Road. If anyone sees the vehicle or suspect, please contact the sheriff's office at 911. (WSB-TV)
- In-person auditions are being held at 6 p.m. on August 15 and 16 for the Youth Spotlight Production's theater education program, "Charlotte's Web." Video auditions will be accepted until August 16 at 8:30 p.m. Callbacks will take place on August 17 at 6 p.m. Please see the theater's website for important audition requirements and rehearsal and performance schedules. - Free Home Elementary School has named Kristin Davis a 2022 Teacher of the Year. Davis began her teaching career about 18 years ago, taking a break after 3 to help at home with her four children. After a 15-year break, while still engaging with her children's schools in the PTA, Davis returned to teaching. (CCSD Press Release)

- The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce presents the "Chamber Classic Golf Tournament" at Woodmont Golf and Country Club on Gaddis Road. (8 a.m.)
- The "7th Annual GA H&V Communicator Cup" starts at 9 a.m. at Fairways of Canton on Laurel Canyon Parkway. Please check the GA Hands & Voices website for registration and sponsorship opportunities. (9 a.m.)
- "Homeschool Meet-Up" is going on twice today at the Woodstock Library on Main Street. The program is for children of all ages and will include a story time, group meeting and breakout group activities. (10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.)
- Ember Hot Yoga is holding their "Hot Vinyasa" class tonight and every Monday on Chambers Street. Please register online. All levels are welcome, though some prior experience is helpful. (6:30 p.m.)
- "DJ Bingo" at Woodstock Beer Market on Chambers Street. (7 p.m.)
- "80s Trivia" with Light's Up! Entertainment at Blue Ghost Arcade. Paid admission includes entry into trivia. (8 p.m.)

- The Cherokee County Animal Shelter (CCAS) offers free microchips for Cherokee residents' pets during normal business hours Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. No appointment is needed, but please make sure pets are leashed or in a secure carrier. (CCAS via Facebook)
- Scotty McCreery will perform with The Whiskey Rose Band on September 10 in the last show of the Summer Concert Series. McCreery originally broke into the spotlight winning the American Idol competition in 2011 and is now a certified gold and platinum, chart-topping country artist.
