- Cherokee Recreation and Parks is holding a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt on October 26. The Halloween Hike looks so fun, it will be held at Lewis park beginning at 6:30 p.m. Costumes are welcome and appreciated, and children must be accompanied by an adult. - The City of Woodstock has its regular meeting of the mayor and council tonight at 7 p.m. Items on the agenda include the swearing in of firefighter and paramedic Keith DeLorme, the proclamation of October 24 as World Polio Day and public petitions and communications. The meeting will be held at the Chambers at City Center at 8534 Main Street. (Woodstock Meeting Portal)
- The downtown area is bustling this time of year, and there are a couple events coming up this weekend that, based on previous years' attendance, will be packed. Make sure to head down early if you plan on attending. The Northside Hospital Cherokee Amphitheater will be swinging to the sound of music Friday. Head over with a picnic basket, chairs or a blanket and enjoy an evening of swing music with the Cobb New Horizons Symphonic Band. The free show is scheduled to run from 7 - 9 p.m. Art on the Green returns to the Event Green Saturday. Local artists will be displaying art of all kinds, head down and grab some one-of-a-kind holiday gifts before the season hits. The event will be around from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Woodstock Arts)

- Shut Up & Write! Cherokee County / Woodstock: join the Meetup group for an hour of writing, surrounded by writers. Quick introductions at 6 p.m., writing starts at 6:15, and when the end of the session comes at 7:15, you can hang around to chat, keep on writing or you can head out. - Labrador Friends of the South will be holding an adoption event on Saturday at Reformation Brewery, 105 Elm Street. The Labrador rescue based out of Cumming will be there from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. with merchandise to browse, and of course, some super adorable dogs. (Labrador Friends of the South)
- FoxTale Book Shoppe and Woodstock Parks and Rec are bringing a special story time to the Gazebo in the Park at City Center this Saturday. Head on over for Storytime Live! with Spider Gwen. Spider Gwen will read a story, pose for pictures and more from 1 - 3 p.m. (Visit Woodstock)
- Cherokee Recreation & Parks' monthly fitness class LABLAST is open for registration. The class combines ballroom dance and exercise for a fun workout for all levels.
