Tea with Cinderella, Charter Decision and More

Here's what you need to know before leaving the house today, Friday June 24.

1) Today there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.  It will be mostly sunny, with a high near 88, according to the National Weather Service.  Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 67. 

2)  The Cherokee County Board of Education will decide the fate of Cherokee Charter Academy at a 6 p.m. meeting held in the 1,000-seat Cherokee High School auditorium. Doors open at 5 p.m.

3) Bring the kids and come hang out with the Cinderella gang. , 8990 Main St., is sponsoring a tea at 4:30 p.m. with the cast of the upcoming Elm Street Players production of "Cinderella."

The musical adaptation of the fairy tale will be on stage July 13, 20, 27 at 10 a.m.; July 16-17, 23-24 at 3 p.m. The cost of the tea event, $20, includes tea, treats, tax, gratuity and a ticket to see the play.

4) The cheapest gas is still at BJ's, 105 Long Dr. and  Molly Lane, at $3.42. The next best is $3.45 at Kroger, 2295 Towne Lake Pkwy and Eagle Drive.

5) And lastly, today is National Museum Come to Life Day. 

Remember the movie, "Night at the Museum,"  where Ben Stiller plays a night security guard at the Museum of Natural History. He gets more excitement than he bargained for. Now, it’s your turn to get excited. Museums are a great way to learn and be entertained. Here is a website that lists museums:
