  1. The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is asking for our help in locating two people that went missing from Bells Ferry Place in Acworth. Yesica Yoraima Perez, a 16-year-old female described as 5 feet and 130 pounds, is with her 18-month-old son, Dilan. The last time Perez and her son were seen was at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at 495 Bells Ferry Place. If you have any information about the two, please contact the Sheriff's Office at 770-928-0239 or 9-1-1 and reference case SO22-016019. (Cherokee Sheriff's Office via Facebook)
  2. Registration is now open for the 17th annual Guns and Hoses 5K Run/Walk. The 5K will be at Hobgood Park on February 11, and the charity race is a certified race for the Peachtree Qualifier. Charities that will benefit from the 5K were chosen by the Cherokee Sheriff's Office (Guns) and Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services (Hoses) and include Sheriff Frank Reynolds Charities and The Goshen Valley Boys Ranch. You'll pick the team you want to represent when you register. (Cherokee Recreation & Parks)
  3. A Cherokee County School District (CCSD) professional has been named Georgia Assistant Principal of the Year and will now advance to the national competition. Woodstock High School Assistant Principal Dr. Meagan Waid was highlighted earlier this week in a school district press release describing her passion for education and how she chose her career. Waid was a student at Johnston Elementary School, Dean Rusk Middle School and Woodstock High School as a child, and she returned to the CCSD family after teaching for only one year in a different county. Congratulations! (CCSD Press Release)
