Here are the top three stories today in Woodstock-Towne Lake:
- A 14-year-old girl from Cherokee County has gone missing. Sulma Raquel Temaj Tojil was last seen around Old Shoal Creek Road at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Tojil is about 5-foot-1, 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Her clothing and the direction she was traveling remains unknown. The Cherokee Sheriff's Office asks that anyone with information about Tojil or her location contact the department at 9-1-1 or 770-928-0239. You can reference case SO22-015624. - The Canton Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying three men in relation to a felony shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Riverstone Parkway. A picture of the men can be seen here on the Police Department's Facebook page. The alleged incident occurred on October 25, between 6:46 and 6:58 a.m. The men left in a gray, four-door Hyundai sedan. - A woman found deceased in South Carolina's Cherokee County has been identified as a 20-year-old Canton, Georgia resident. Emily Lauren King was found towards the side of the road in the late morning of November 5. She was in South Carolina visiting with a friend. The news story states that she regularly walked around the area, though the cause of her death is still under investigation. (WYFF4)

- The November Cherokee County School District (CCSD) Connections Parent Newsletter has been published online. This month's edition is prefaced by a very important message from the superintendent requesting our involvement in the fight to keep our children safe on social media and messaging platforms. Please read the message when you can and then let's all speak with our children about being responsible, kind and safe when using technology and the internet. (CCSD Press Release)
- On the subject of the school district, the CCSD is holding a Fall Job Fair on Thursday, November 17. The district is hiring for mid-year teaching positions and has an immediate need for bus drivers, paraprofessionals and school nutrition assistant managers and subs. You can learn more about the benefits offered, hear some more detail on the open positions, complete an application and even participate in interviews during the job fair being held at 1020 Keeter Road, Canton, from 2:30 - 5 p.m. (CCSD Press Release)
- Cherokee County E 9-1-1 and Cherokee County Emergency Management are holding a food drive Thursday to help fill the local food pantries ahead of the holiday season. The departments will have representatives on hand at the Kroger located at 4045 Marietta Highway in Canton to collect non-perishable food items from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Cherokee County E 9-1-1 via Facebook)
- The Reeves House is hosting a Fall 2022 Wine Tasting Saturday from 5 - 8 p.m. Registration is still open, and your tickets will include six tastings and the option of hors d'oeuvres and/or dessert bites. You can register here for the event. (Woodstock Arts)
- Registration for the second session of Cherokee Recreation & Parks' Leisure Spectrum is open. One of the Therapeutic Recreation offerings, Leisure Spectrum, is a six-week program for those with special needs that runs from January 3 to February 7. The Tuesday sessions start at 5:30 p.m., and drop-off is at The WREC. Participants will have fun with bowling, laser tag, movies, art, music, shopping and more. You can register for the program here.
