Here are the top three stories in Woodstock-Towne Lake today:
- A Woodstock Whataburger is planned to open in the coming year. Though an exact opening date isn't known at this time, the plan includes a site at 9766 Highway 92. The chain is quickly moving into the Georgia market, with an opening in Kennesaw next week and seven other locations planned in the state for 2023. New openings will be in Cumming, Buford, Monroe, Covington, Athens, Snellville and Dawsonville. (Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch)
- Bryce Leatherwood has advanced to the top 10 on NBC's "The Voice." There are only a handful of episodes left, and going forward, the audience at home can cast a vote for their favorite. The next live show is on November 28, and the eliminations will take place the next day. On December 5, the top-8 will perform in a live show, and the results will take place the next day. The finale airs in two parts, on December 12 and 13. If you'd like to vote, make sure to tune in to NBC on Mondays and Tuesdays, they will announce when the lines are open for voting. (Newsweek)
- The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is holding its regular adoption event Saturday, but for this After Thanksgiving Sale, all fees are waived for animals that are all black, black speckled, black spotted and black striped. The available animals can be seen online here. A QR code at the front door of the shelter will become active starting at 10 a.m. today, please scan the QR code to enter the "virtual line." The shelter adopts on a first come, first served basis, and animals can't be put on hold. For animals that don't have any black coloring, the regular adoption fee includes the spay or neuter, heartworm and leukemia testing, initial vaccinations, deworming, flea preventative, microchipping and more. - Bascomb United Methodist Church has a place at the table for you today. Their event posting says, "Not visiting family on Thanksgiving Day? No family visiting you? Come visit with our Bascomb family and enjoy a Thanksgiving Meal with turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, and side dishes." The event begins at noon with rime for socialization, and the meal service will run from 2 - 5 p.m., or until the food runs out. Reservations are required so the church can get a head count, you can RSVP here. (noon - 6 p.m.)

- Cherokee Recreation & Parks is hiring! The department is looking for part-time staff to work in their upcoming camps in Woodstock and Canton. The listed openings are for camp counselors, a camp leader, a bus driver and a camp coordinator assistant. There are openings in other departments as well, you can see those here. - On Friday, bring the family and friends over to the Breakfast & Black Friday Taproom Party at Reformation Brewery. Beer for breakfast? Why not! There will be pancakes, a selection of dark beer and pancakes topped with a specially made Bourbon Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup. (UPDATE - no tickets are needed. All items will be available while supplies last.) As a bonus, there are two new items available for pickup starting on Friday - the brewery is releasing a Barrel Aged Belgian Quad called "Needs More Whammy," and Reformation Craft Spirits is releasing a London Dry Gin, steeped with juniper berries, Saigon cinnamon chips, licorice root, coriander and angelica root botanicals. The brewery is located at 105 Elm Street. (6 - 11 a.m.)

There is an option to purchase bottomless mimosas, and all supplies will be provided for the painting session in the Education Studio at the Reeves House, 734 Reeves Street. (2 - 4:30 p.m.)
- Sunday: Yoga in the Garden -for all skill levels. Please bring a mat, water bottle and a notebook for a bit of reflection time at the end of class. The class is donation-based and will be held in the backyard garden of the Reeves House. (3 - 4 p.m.)
