Whataburger Set To Open 8 Restaurants In Atlanta Area

WOODSTOCK, GA — Georgians will soon have a chance to sink their teeth into Whataburger’s tasty sandwiches served up with a side of hometown hospitality.

The Texas-based company has announced plans to open its first Atlanta area restaurants in these locations:

2022

• 705 Town Park Lane NW, Kennesaw, Ga. 30144
• 9766 GA-92, Woodstock, Ga. 30188

2023

• 503 Lakeland Plaza, Cumming, Ga. 30040
• SEQ Buford Dr and Exchange Dr, Buford, Ga. 30519
• 3321 Lexington Rd, Athens, Ga. 30605
• 3201 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, Ga. 30606
• 100 Pottery Rd, Commerce, Ga. 30529
• 15 Wallace Blvd, Dawsonville, Ga. 30534

At the moment, Whataburger currently operates only one Georgia restaurant in Thomasville, near the Florida state line.

“The Atlanta area is a great location for Whataburger, and we couldn’t be more pleased to make our entry into the community with our Kennesaw restaurant expected to open this fall,” said Market Leader Jon Barideaux. “We’ve had the good fortune of meeting quite a few of our new neighbors already, and we’ve already felt every bit of their hospitality.”

A series of local events will be held to celebrate the new restaurants, beginning with the Kennesaw groundbreaking on Wednesday, April 6, with the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce, the company said.

Along with the new restaurants, Whataburger said it plans to also hire 180 employees at its first restaurant in Kennesaw. Hiring for an operating partner and managers is ongoing. Team leader and team member hiring is set to begin this summer. Whataburger said it plans to employ more than 1,400 at area restaurants by year-end 2023.
