Woodstock Awarded Re-Accreditation For Parks Department
The city received the designation from the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies.

WOODSTOCK, GA — The city of Woodstock has been awarded re-accreditation by the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies and the National Recreation and Park Association.
CAPRA accreditation is the only national accreditation designation reserved for park and recreation agencies, and is a measure of an agency’s overall operations, management and service to the community. Accreditation is awarded based on an agency's ability to comply with the organization's 151 standards.
CAPRA notes the Woodstock Parks and Recreation Department met or exceeded all 151 standards with no unmet standards. There are currently only 166 accredited parks and recreation agencies across the United States and 11 in Georgia.

Woodstock Parks and Recreation Director Preston Pooser accepted the award on behalf of the city last week at the annual NRPA Best of the Best Award Ceremony in Indianapolis.
"I am extremely proud and thankful to my staff who work tirelessly to make Woodstock such a great place to live and play," Pooser said. "Earning and maintaining CAPRA Accreditation requires a citywide effort from all departments. I am very appreciative of the help and support from our mayor and City Council, Jeff Moon, our city manager, and all of our city department heads who assisted us through this process."
