Person In Custody, Driver Injured After Police Chase Ends In Woodstock
Cobb County School Police chased the suspect into Woodstock Monday, prompting the brief closure of Main Street.

WOODSTOCK — A Cobb County School Police chase ended in Woodstock with a person in custody and an innocent driver with injuries Monday, Woodstock Assistant Police Chief Mark Hand told Patch.
Hand confirmed the chase happened in the area of Main Street.
He said when Cobb County School police officers chased the suspect's vehicle into Woodstock, local city officers assisted in trying to stop the vehicle.

The suspect's vehicle then hit an uninvolved vehicle head on, causing the driver of that vehicle to suffer non-threatening injuries, he said.
A Woodstock officer then used their patrol vehicle to box in the suspect's vehicle and take the suspect into custody, Hand said.

The innocent driver was taken to a local hospital by ambulance, he said.
It is unknown what prompted the initial police chase in Cobb.
Police said earlier Monday that Main was closed in both directions between Dupree Road and Serenade Lane. The street has since reopened.
