Hawaii Governor David Y. Ige: Department Of Public Safety Coronavirus Update
The Department of Public Safety continues to encourage all staff and inmates to voluntarily get tested and receive the COVID-19 vaccination.

HONOLULU – COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ. The latest testing updates received for the correctional facilities are as follows:

Maui Community Correctional Center – 44 inmate test results; 12 positive, 32 negative.
Kauai Community Correctional Center – 16 inmate test results; six (6) positive, 10 negative. 10 inmates have recovered. One (1) positive staff test result was reported.

Women’s Community Correctional Center – 14 inmate test results; Six (6) positive, 8 negative.
Hawaii Community Correctional Center – 20 inmate test results; Five (5) positive, 15 negative. One (1) positive staff test result was reported.
Oahu Community Correctional Center – Four inmate test results; Two (2) positive, two (2) negative. Two (2) staff have recovered.
Halawa Correctional Facility – 123 inmate test results; One (1) positive, 122 negative. One (1) positive employee test result was received. Eight (8) employees have recovered.
Waiawa Correctional Facility – 79 inmate test results; One (1) positive, 79 negative.
Kulani Correctional Facility – One (1) positive staff result, and one (1) staff recovery was reported. 29 negative inmate test results.
COVID-19 updates for other PSD Divisions are as follows:
Sheriff Division – Five (5) positive staff test results reported.
