• Members of major drug-trafficking rings sentenced to federal prison (staradvertiser.com) — A major federal drug investigation reached into Kaneohe, where agents searched a Kawa Street storage unit and found rifles, handguns and ammunition tied to a multi-state trafficking ring. Two key conspirators have now been sentenced to lengthy federal prison terms, as authorities detail how large quantities of meth and fentanyl have been funneled into Hawaii communities in recent years. 
• Microchip Madness: Is your pet safe for the holidays? (khon2.com) — Pet owners in Kaneohe can get their cats and dogs microchipped for just $10 at VCA Kaneohe Animal Hospital as part of Hawaiian Humane Society’s island-wide Microchip Madness campaign. Running through Jan. 15, the program helps residents meet Hawaiʻi’s legal microchipping requirement and makes it easier to reunite lost pets with their families.
