• City selects developer for Kapolei site (staradvertiser.com) — Hundreds of new affordable rental homes are planned on nearly 14 acres of city-owned land between Wakea Street and Kamokila Boulevard in Kapolei, with Kobayashi Group chosen as the preferred developer. The long-term project could deliver about 750 income-restricted units, following the model of Parkway Village at Kapolei, and will move next into negotiations, community engagement, environmental review, and land-use approvals.
   

• Fall 2025 commencement schedule set for University of Hawaiʻi 4-year campuses : Big Island Now (bigislandnow.com) — Kapolei residents connected to UH West Oʻahu should note that fall commencement is set for 9 a.m. on Dec. 13 at the campus courtyard on Farrington Highway. The article also lists dates and locations for UH Hilo and UH Mānoa ceremonies, plus links to each campus’s commencement website.
   

• Coca-Cola announces closure of last bottling plant of its kind: 'Part of a strategic … plan' (thecooldown.com) — Kapolei residents should know Coca-Cola’s local bottler plans a new warehouse in the city even as it shuts down its 65-year-old bottling plant in Mapunapuna at January’s end. About 25 production jobs are affected, with the company saying it will try to relocate workers while shifting its Hawaiʻi operations toward distribution and marketing and importing more product from the mainland.
