• PRESS CHRISTMAS FOR ALL A life renewed, a future restored (cdapress.com) — Coeur d’Alene residents are being asked to support Press Christmas for All, which funds critical needs for struggling Kootenai County neighbors like ‘Sarah,’ whose dental care helped her stay on track in recovery. Every donated dollar goes directly to local recipients, with Hagadone Corp. covering overhead, and gifts can be made by mail, phone, online, or in person downtown.

• Security company owner on trial for use of force at Republican town hall (kxly.com) — A high-profile trial is underway in Coeur d’Alene over how a woman was removed from a Kootenai County Republican Central Committee town hall at Coeur d’Alene High School. Security company owner Paul Trouette faces charges including battery and false imprisonment, while his defense argues he acted under Sheriff Bob Norris’ direction. Jurors are expected to weigh conflicting witness accounts and video footage as testimony continues today.

• Idaho gas prices drop below $3; hasn't been this low since January 2024 (rexburgstandardjournal.com) — Gas prices in Coeur d'Alene have dipped to about $2.93 per gallon, part of a statewide slide that’s pushed Idaho’s average below $3 for the first time since early 2024. AAA says cheaper crude and recent double-digit weekly drops are giving drivers some welcome holiday relief, and suggests using grocery fuel rewards to stretch savings even further.
