Avista Holiday Tournament celebrates 13 years, draws regional teams to Lewiston (klewtv.com) — Lewiston is hosting the 13th annual Avista Holiday Basketball Tournament at Lewis-Clark State College’s P1FCU Activity Center, bringing in high school teams from four states and filling local hotels during a typically slow week. Organizers credit local athletic directors and Avista’s support for growing the event from four teams into one of the LC Valley’s largest tournaments, with both boys’ and girls’ varsity championships set for Wednesday.

2. Local nonprofits receive funding through Avista Foundation grants (dailyfly.com) — Lewiston-area nonprofits are getting a financial boost, with Lewiston-Clarkston Partners Habitat for Humanity receiving $10,000 and several other local groups sharing in Avista Foundation grants. The awards support housing, community services, and regional programs across the Lewis-Clark Valley and north-central Idaho. Another grant cycle for health and human services projects opens January 1, 2026.
3. ICYMI: Five Idaho cities among nation's fastest-growing (boisedev.com) — New census estimates show Lewiston lost about 144 residents between 2023 and 2024, dropping to roughly 34,700 people even as many Idaho cities surged. While five fast-growing cities near Boise cracked the nation’s top 100 for growth, Lewiston recorded the state’s largest population dip among cities.
4. AAA Report: Idaho Gas Prices Fall Below $2.85 as State Average Nears National Level (dailyfly.com) — Lewiston drivers are paying about $2.75 per gallon for regular gas as Idaho prices fall close to the national average, according to AAA Idaho. The statewide average is now $2.84, down sharply from last month and last year. Officials say lower seasonal demand and cheaper crude are helping, though global tensions could still nudge prices around.
