📰 News we're reading
• County postpones hearing for Simplot facility in Grant until further notice (postregister.com) — Jefferson County has postponed the December hearing on Simplot’s proposed fertilizer distribution facility near the Lewisville Highway because the application was incomplete, and officials expect Simplot may withdraw it. Neighbors had raised strong concerns about noise, air quality, aquifer impacts, traffic, and safety, prompting Simplot to revise its zoning request and host a community meeting. County planners say the controversy highlights the need for better long-term commercial and industrial planning.
