• 'Abuse of discretion': Nampa to ask Canyon Co. to reconsider its area of impact map (boisedev.com) — Nampa’s city leaders are pushing back on Canyon County’s decision to shrink the city’s area of impact, arguing it jeopardizes existing infrastructure investments and future grant funding for roads and a new Boise River crossing. The council voted to seek reconsideration before a year-end deadline and may pursue a court review if commissioners refuse, potentially reshaping where Nampa can grow and invest.
   

• Nampa Police searching for suspect in non-injury shooting (ktvb.com) — Nampa police are asking residents for tips and any home surveillance video after shots were fired late Tuesday night on Birch Lane near Idaho Center Boulevard, damaging two occupied apartments but injuring no one. Investigators recovered shell casings at the scene and say those responsible had already fled, urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers or Nampa Police Dispatch.
   

• Daily bus service from Boise to Portland now in operation (koin.com) — Nampa residents now have daily bus service connecting them to Boise, Ontario, Eastern Oregon, and all the way to Portland via Northwestern Stage Lines. The new route, supported by a federal grant, restores long-distance transit options for car-free travelers and links riders to larger transportation networks like Amtrak and airports.
