• Orofino Council confirms new Building Official (clearwatertribune.com) — Orofino’s City Council has officially appointed Joni Spencer as the new Building Official, tying her pay increases to key certifications that will reduce the city’s reliance on county services. Council members also heard a major progress update on the Orofino Adventure Park, discussed grants for new apartments and infrastructure on Vida, approved support staffing for Planning and Zoning, and set their next meeting for Jan. 13, 2026.

• 500-plus outages linger in the region (lmtribune.com) — If you’re around Orofino, Clearwater Power is still working to restore electricity after a historic windstorm left hundreds of customers in the dark for nearly a week. Extra line and vegetation crews are tackling widespread damage across rural Clearwater County as more than 10,000 customers have already had service restored, but over 500 remained without power as of Tuesday afternoon.
