- The Magic Valley Arts Council's 13th annual Art and Soul Contest kicked off over the weekend and will continue through Saturday, Jul. 1. Throughout the event, artists will compete in over 20 categories to win a share of $55,000 that will be split between 90 winners — with the grand prize winner to take home $15,000. If you're hoping to check out (and vote on) the art that's being showcased at a variety of local businesses, you can view the list of participating venues here. (KMVT)
- Gordy's HWY 30 Music Fest is coming up Wednesday, Jun. 21-Saturday, Jun. 24 at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds. In the meantime, you can grab a beer made specifically for the annual music festival — Gordy's Golden Ale. You can purchase one of the limited edition cans featuring a QR code for the festival's website at various local grocery and convenience stores. (95.7 KEZJ)
- Local Xavier Charter School student Anna Grace Aiello was recently selected as one of 90 students throughout the country to participate in a summer internship working with NASA. During the two-week internship, Aiello and other selected students — including two other students from the Boise, ID area — will work with astronomers on a galaxy classification project using data from telescopes. The internship will take place at the University of Texas in Austin. (KMVT)

- Reminder: starting today (Jun. 13), contractors will close Fillmore Street between Cyn Falls Drive and River View Drive to install a water mainline. The street closure will last through this Thursday, Jun. 15. During this time, east and northbound traffic can use Pole Line Road and Blue Lakes Boulevard, while Canyon Springs Golf Course and neighboring businesses can use Blue Lakes Boulevard and Canyon Springs Road.
