  1. Fish to the rescue! Twin Falls Pest Abatement, in an ecologically sound pest abatement project, has captured Bluegill fish in Dierkes Lake. These natural predators are being transported to the known havens of mosquito larvae, one of their natural prey. Aaron Ursenbach, Manager of the Twin Falls Pest Abatement District, has employed the environmentally friendly technique as an alternative to chemical pesticides. (KMVT)
  2. Rumor has it that there is a new 2023 Gold Rush for a spot just north of Twin Falls! One of the major locations is said to be in the Sawtooth National Forest. If you are interested in panning for gold this summer, you can gather the necessary materials for about $100. The documented history of the region reveals gold strikes have occurred here, exemplified by the rush of 1862. (News Radio 1310 KLIX)
  3. Derek Lekkerkerk of Twin Falls will compete in the World Junior Golf Championship at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, CA. The contest will begin on Jul. 11. The young man says he does his best work under pressure. He is enthusiastic and eager to begin the next round. (KMVT)

  • The Buhl Legion Tribe baseball team of Twin Falls proved they've "got game" Thursday night, Jul. 6, with a doubleheader! Their first game ended in a 9-1 win, and their second in a 11-1 win. With these two games under their belts, they bring their winning streak to a straight 20 games! Keep up the good work! (KMVT)
  • Mark your calendars for the opening of the Magic Valley Stampede Rodeo on Aug. 31, at the Shouse Arena. This western competition is one of the top 60 PRCA Rodeos and will run until Sep. 2. Hours will be from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Performing in the show is Rodeo Clown Austin Singly. Get your tickets here. (Times-News)
  • Have you always wanted to bake first-prize-winning cookies? Take a look at this class, happening today, Jul. 8, at the Kneaders Bakery & Cafe. The class is specifically focused on decorating something yummy called a Twin Falls Cactus Sugar Cookie. They'll teach you to draw a cactus in frosting on top of a glorious sugar cookie.
