  1. CSI's aquaculture program has spawned new student opportunities with one of the oldest programs in the country. The program at CSI teaches students how to care for and hatch fish but also lets them experience doing the work at a hatchery firsthand. CSI is one of the only schools with a hatchery that is commercial, which gives students a unique opportunity to also get a grasp of the business practices in the aquaculture field. The program at CSI gives students Bachelor's degrees in fisheries management, fish biology, nutrition, and pathology; the head of the program hopes to expand the program even more in the next few years. Students in the program have gone on to run their own businesses, been biological aides, lab technicians, and more. (KTVB.com)
  2. Twin Falls Western Days is getting ready for the big opening this Friday! A soft opening of the celebration will begin on Friday at noon with vendors set up in the park, and the official kick-off is at 5:00 p.m. The weekend will consist of the parade on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. and vendors from the Pacific Northwest. There will be large varieties of food, the annual car show that runs Saturday and Sunday, and bounce houses for the kids. (KMVT)
  3. The City of Twin Falls warns residents of door-to-door sales scams as summer begins. An increased number of door-to-door salesmen are seen in the Magic Valley during the summer months selling things like solar, roofs, home security, and more. Twin Falls recommends that residents look for the permit that should be displayed with the solicitor, or ask them to show their permit or documents before speaking with them about any services. If they do not provide you with the documentation shut your door and call 911, and an officer will be dispatched to the area to find that person. (KMVT)
