- The truck driver killed in Wednesday's Twin Falls County crash has been identified as Casey Lynn Romens, age 34, of Castleford. According to law enforcement, Romens was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, which occurred on 1600 N. traveling eastbound. - Jack Johnson, currently a Twin Falls County Commissioner, was tapped by retiring Sheriff Tom Carter to be his replacement. Sheriff Carter made the announcement after Mr. Johnson announced his candidacy for the position in the 2024 election. Johnson, who has over 30 years of law enforcement experience and currently serves as a Twin Falls County Commissioner, expressed his gratitude for Carter's endorsement and shared his commitment to advancing law enforcement practices and collaborating closely with county prosecutor Grant Loebs. - On Aug. 5, the 12th Annual Magic Valley Beer Festival will return to Twin Falls City Park, supporting the Twin Falls Search and Rescue.
