  1. A rare bird found mostly in the Deep South was discovered in Twin Falls, Idaho! The bird, identified as a Northern Bobwhite, prefers forest terrain, and Idaho Fish and Game are unsure what would bring the species to Twin Falls. For now, the theory is that the bird was being raised on a farm and escaped out into the open. The Northern Bobwhite has since disappeared from the backyard it was found in. (News Radio 1310 KLIX)
  2. The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office has shared how they handle mental health cases after arrests. According to Captain Doug Hughes, the jail does have mental health professionals on staff and if an inmate starts having mental health issues, they have the opportunity to meet with the jail medical staff to determine the next steps. He also shared that if someone is arrested while on drugs or alcohol, they will go through the detox process first before addressing the mental health issue. (KMVT)
  3. A local kayaker has shared his favorite spots for water sports near Twin Falls! Some of the destinations to make the list are Thousand Springs State Park, Balanced Rock Park, and Bruneau Dunes State Park. However, Greg Janetta states the most underrated location is Lake Walcott State Park. The water incorporates Minidoka Dam and is not only ideal for boating, jet skiing, and kayaking, but the area also has bike trails, volleyball, and disc golf. (News Radio 1310 KLIX)
