Here are the top three stories today in Twin Falls:
- A 28-year-old man from Twin Falls was arrested on Monday after a high-speed chase ending at a Kimberly Road motel. Zachary J. Cole faces charges of possession of methamphetamine as well as eluding law enforcement officers. Police say Cole ran a stop sign, drove in the wrong lane, and nearly crashed while driving aggressively before being stopped by officers. (Subscription: Times-News)
- The Idaho Transportation Department has started a two-year project to widen Interstate 84 between the South Jerome Interchange at Exit 168 and the Twin Falls Interchange at Exit 173. Drivers will experience nighttime lane reductions in each direction, occasional daytime lane reductions, and rolling closures for blasting rock in the median this spring and summer. Construction is expected to finish in the late fall of 2025. (Idaho State Journal)
- The community is invited to join police officers and their families on Saturday at the Twin Falls City Park bandshell to pay tribute to officers who have died in the line of duty. Rep. Linda Wright Hartgen will be the keynote speaker at the Magic Valley Law Enforcement Memorial service, and other local dignitaries will attend for the presentation of police week proclamations and a reading of the list of Idaho's fallen officers. Seven Magic Valley law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty. (Subscription: Times-News)
