• City firefighters respond to fire at Hatch Pit (postregister.com) — Ucon Fire crews assisted Idaho Falls firefighters early Sunday in containing a large pallet and wood-pile fire at the Hatch Pit on Recycle Road, working to keep it from spreading. The blaze, about an acre in size with deep smoldering wood chips, drew multiple units and landfill staff as they focused on preventing underground spread and nearby spot fires.
