Armed Home Invader Threatened To Kill Victim If He Called Police: Authorities
An armed man approached a DeKalb resident near his vehicle and forced him back inside his home at gunpoint, police said.
DEKALB, IL — A man held a DeKalb resident at gunpoint outside the person’s home, forcing the victim inside and threatening to kill him if he called police, according to authorities.
Anthony Redd, 40, was charged with armed robbery, home invasion and unlawful restraint, all felonies, police announced Thursday.
Authorities responded around 5:15 a.m. Oct. 2 to the incident in the 100 block of South 7th Street, police said. Redd approached a person attempting to enter a vehicle, pointed a gun at the victim, demanded his cell phone and money, forced him inside his home for his wallet and more money, threatened to kill him if he contacted police, and fled the scene, according to authorities.

Officers used video surveillance to identify Redd and executed a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of East Locust Street, where they found Redd and located evidence in the investigation, police said.
