"This time of year, instability is always questionable," the weather service said, noting that these types of set-ups are all-or-nothing and more often nothing.

After Thursday, there is a chance of snow on Saturday and Sunday.

"Conditions turn much cooler for the weekend when snow chances return to the forecast," the weather service said on its Facebook.
