Holiday Return Policies: Returning Gifts In Illinois

Got a gift that doesn't quite work for you? Here's how long you have to return it.

ILLINOIS — We've all gotten them. Well-meaning gifts that weren't quite right for us: The sweater that fits just a bit too snug, the knitting set when you don't knit, the duplicate gift that you've already got. While it's truly the thought that counts, if you are looking to return a gift, you'll want to know how long you've got to take it back (or ship it) back to the store.

The folks over at Offers.com have helpfully created a list of many brick-and-mortar and online retailers, and their holiday return policies. Many retailers offer an extended return period for gifts bought during the holiday giving season.

Offers also surveyed consumers on what type of gift they're most likely to return. These are the results.
