'Slick Travel,' Snow Continues Into Sunday Afternoon For Chicago Area

ILLINOIS — Snow will continue into Sunday afternoon for the Chicago area, as total accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected.

The National Weather Service has expanded its winter weather advisory to Cook, DuPage and Will counties until 2 p.m. Sunday. DeKalb, Kane, Kendall, La Salle and McHenry counties also remain under a winter weather advisory.

The weather service said widespread snow is expected through early afternoon on Sunday, and could cause reduced visibility for travel.

Roads could be partially covered with snow and result in "slick travel," and drivers should plan on increased travel times if traveling on Sunday morning, according to the weather service.

Blustery conditions will continue on Sunday night, with some possible flurries, according to the weather service. Monday will be dry, and sunny, but with a high of only 30 degrees.

Chilly temperatures will also continue into Tuesday, which has a high of 30 degrees. Morning wind chills on Monday and Tuesday will be between 5 and 15 degrees, the weather service said.
