Snow Possible Tuesday, Before Temps Hit 60 By Friday In Chicago Area

With another chance of snow Monday night, few slick spots on roads are possible, mainly near and north of Interstate 80.

ILLINOIS — The week will start with a chance of snow on late Monday into Tuesday, before highs of 60 degrees are expected by the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

The high for Monday is 41 degrees, and some light slushy accumulations of snow are expected Monday night, according to the weather service. The accumulations will be mainly be on grassy surfaces.

A few slick spots on roads are possible late Monday, mainly near and north of Interstate 80, the weather service said.

Areas south of the Kankakee River will see more of a rain/snow mix, rather than snow.

"Snow transitions to rain/drizzle on Tuesday," the weather service said.

Tuesday and Wednesday both have a high of 40 degrees. After snow and rain on Tuesday, dry weather is expected from mid-week onward.

The high for Thursday is 57 degrees, followed by a high of 60 degrees on Friday, according to the weather service.
