Temps Near 60 Degrees For IL Before Cold Front Moves In This Weekend

ILLINOIS — The work week will on a very mild note, with temperatures well above average for this time of year.

Thursday has a high of 55 degrees, and Friday a high of 58, according to the National Weather Service. The mild temps will also continue into Saturday, which will have a high of 54.

By Sunday, things will turn more seasonable, as temps drop back down to the 30s.

Thursday and Friday will be dry and breezy, with gusts as high as 25 mph on Friday, according to the weather service. However, rain will move into the area as the weekend begins.

"Spotty showers or drizzle arrive Friday evening, with rain overspreading the region overnight into Saturday morning," the weather service said.

Rain will end Saturday afternoon, and temperatures will start to fall as a cold front passes through. Sunday will be breezy, with morning wind chills in the teens and 20s, the weather service said.

Seasonable temperatures will stick around for the start of the work week, and a high of 37 is expected on Monday, according to the weather service.
