Uber, Lyft Will Get You To The Polls On Election Day In Illinois
And in some cases, the ride could even be free.

ILLINOIS — Tuesday is Election Day, and Illinois voters will head to the polls to cast their ballots in the 2018 midterms. But if you don't have transportation, don't despair: Rideshare companies Lyft and Uber are offering rides to the polls, and in some cases, you can even ride for free.
Lyft said it's offering 50 percent off rides across the country Tuesday. Visit BuzzFeed to access a Lyft promo code by entering your ZIP code.
"We’re thrilled to be working with Vote.org, Nonprofit Vote, TurboVote and more to help distribute codes to those who need them," Lyft said in August, adding that free rides will also be available in certain under served areas. "We’ll also have a product integration to help passengers find their polling location." Promo codes are valid Tuesday only and can get you up to $5 off.

Along with the $10 discounts, Uber is working with #VoteTogether and Democracy Works to provide free rides in areas where transportation to the polls is hard to come by as part of its "Uber Drives the Vote" promotion. Uber says the groups have been "engaging with groups of voters to help ensure that transportation isn’t a barrier in getting to the polls."
