Wintry Monday Brings Flurries, Gusty Winds To Chicago Area
After Monday, temperatures begin to warm again and weather will be dry and sunny.
ILLINOIS — A "wintry Monday" is expected, with cold temperatures, flurries and winds as high as 45 mph possible, according to the National Weather Service.
A strong storm system will bring scattered snow showers across parts of northern Illinois, the weather service said. Some local accumulations are possible on bridges and overpasses by daybreak on Monday.

The worst conditions are expected in northwest Indiana, where areas could see high winds and lake effect snow showers.

The weather service said strong winds up to 45 mph are possible across the Chicago area through mid-afternoon on Monday. The high for the day is 31 degrees, with wind chills between 10 and 20.
After Monday, temperatures begin to warm again, and conditions will be sunny and dry, according to the weather service.

Tuesday will have a high of 33, Wednesday a high of 43, Thursday a high of 47 and Friday a high of 47.
The next chance of rain will arrive on Friday, the weather service said.
