3 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured In Fiery Sunday Crash

The collision happened in the 13400 block of Davis Road in unincorporated Woodstock Sunday afternoon.

WOODSTOCK, IL — Three people are dead following a Sunday collision in Woodstock.

Authorities say the crash happened at about 12 p.m. in the 13400 block of Davis Road in unincorporated Woodstock, according to a news release from the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District.

A silver sport utility vehicle collided with a black two-door sedan, and when emergency crews arrived at the scene, one of the vehicles was fully engulfed in flames.

Emergency crews freed a trapped juvenile from the silver SUV, and the juvenile was transported by helicopter to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood with serious injuries. After the fire was put out, two people were found inside the black sedan and were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A third vehicle, a Jeep, was hit by debris from the collision, and the driver and young passenger in the Jeep were not harmed and did not require medical treatment.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
