Randall Road Intersection Reopens For Holiday Roadwork Break

Local drivers will be happy to know the intersection of Miller Road at Randall Road will reopen Friday.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The west leg of Miller Road at Randall Road in Lake in the Hills is expected to reopen Friday — likely by mid-morning following the morning rush hour — and just in time for people's holiday travel plans.

Shaw Local News Network is reporting the reopening of the intersection is about a week later than expected due to the heavy snowfall recently in the area, which has led to delays in the construction work at the intersection, said Darrell Kuntz, McHenry County Division of Transportation assistant county engineer.

And while the intersection will be full reopened for the holiday rush, it will close again in spring so construction crews can install permanent pavement — the current pavement is temporary — and remove a box culvert.
