4 Baby Squirrels Have Tails Fused Together

Alert Patch reader Mia posted the above photos of four baby squirrels with their tails fused together on Buffalo Grove Patch.

 She said it's called the "squirrel king phenomenon" and happens when sap falls into a squirrel nest and the babies' tails get stuck together.

Mia said she was walking her dog when she saw the connected siblings and snapped the pics. She took them to a wildlife rehab center. Some tails needed to be trimmed, but they are doing fine.
