Algonquin Man Accused In Girlfriend's Schaumburg Stabbing Death
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office ruled the woman's death a homicide due to more than 20 "cutting injuries, WLS reported.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — An Algonquin man faces a felony first degree murder charge stemming from his girlfriend's stabbing death in her Schaumburg home early Saturday, Schaumburg police said, according to WLS. Police said 55-year-old Anthony Prate remains in custody and will attend bond court Monday after an autopsy conducted Sunday by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office ruled Malgorzata Daniel's death a homicide due to more than 20 "cutting injuries," according to WLS.
Prate called Schaumburg police around 1:31 a.m. Saturday to the 300 block of Arbor Glen Boulevard and told officers he and his girlfriend had a fight involving a knife, and were both injured, according to police. Officers got to the home and found Daniel stabbed to death inside, according to the news report.
The Cook County State's Attorney's office approved the charge against Prate who police said was taken into custody after being treated at a hospital for hand and arm injuries.
