Fire Truck Side Swipes Parked Car In Algonquin: Fire Officials
The incident happened around 11:50 a.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Grandview Court.

Surveillance video captured a fire truck sideswiping a parked car while responding to an emergency call last week in an Algonquin neighborhood.
The incident happened around 11:50 a.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Grandview Court in Algonquin, according to Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District Deputy Chief John Knebl.

Knebl said the accident was minor and it involved a parked vehicle that was unoccupied.
Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District Truck 181 sideswiped the parked vehicle after clearing the scene of a medical call.

“As they were leaving that call, they were dispatched to an activated fire alarm,” Knebl told Lake and McHenry County Scanner.
The car that was sideswiped sustained damage to its driver side, rims, and front bumper. The fire truck was able to remain in service and did not sustain major damage.
A surveillance video shared online by Algonquin resident Thomas Schillaci Jr. captured the incident. He said the incident involved his neighbor’s car.
Algonquin Deputy Police Chief Dennis Walker said there were no injuries in the accident. He did not say if any citations were issued.
