Firefighter Injured While Battling Blaze At Vacant Home

ALGONQUIN, IL — A firefighter was injured when a blaze broke out at a home in Algonquin Wednesday night.

The Algonquin Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was called to the blaze in the 400 block of Nokomis Trail in Algonquin at about 7:05 p.m. When they arrived, they found the vacant two-story, single-family home fully engulfed in flames.

No residents were injured in the fire. A firefighter injured by the blaze was taken to a local hospital and later released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
