Lakewood Decides Against Selling RedTail Golf Course

Village Board votes against listing course with a broker after residents express concern.

The Lakewood Village Board has decided not to sell RedTail Golf Course after Lakewood residents expressed concern selling the village-owned 18-hole course could hurt their property values, the Northwest Herald reports.

Lakewood village trustees during a Tuesday, Oct. 22 meeting unanimously voted against listing the course with a broker. Prior to hearing residents' opinions on the matter, five of the six trustees supported the idea of listing the course for $1.9 million, substantially less than the $3.5 million the village paid for it (plus interest on a 20-year bond), the Herald story stated.
