Woman Sentenced To Prison For Heroin Possession In McHenry County

Illinois State Police troopers found 36 grams of heroin during a search of the woman's car on I-90 in April, officials said.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — McHenry County State's Attorney Patrick Kenneally announced 28-year-old Lindsey Braley has been sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) after pleading guilty to possession of 15 to 100 grams of heroin, a felony, and driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a release from the state's attorney's office. Braley was sentenced by McHenry County Judge Michael Coppedge, according to the release.

On April 23, an Illinois State Police Trooper pulled over a car being driven by Braley on Interstate 90, and conducted an investigation, the state's attorney's office said. As a result of the investigation the trooper determined Braley was intoxicated, and she was arrested, the release said.

During a search of Braley's car, troopers found 36 grams of heroin, according to the release.

Members of the Illinois State Police investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Brian Miller of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
