Woodstock Man Gets 6 Years For Sex Assault Of Girl He Knew
The victim informed authorities that the suspect had committed an act of sexual assault on her during multiple occasions, police said.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Patrick Kenneally, McHenry County State's Attorney, announced Tuesday that 37-year-old Daniel Pollet, from Woodstock and formerly from Clinton, Wisconsin, was sentenced Monday to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, according to a news release from the state's attorney's office. Pollet was sentenced to prison on two counts of felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse by McHenry County Judge Robert Willbrandt, the state's attorney's office said.
Pollet will be required to register under the Sex Offender Registration Act for life once he's released from prison, according to the news release.
On Dec. 4, 2017, the Woodstock Police Department’s Investigations Division was informed by Centegra Hospital in Huntley of a sexual assault allegation involving a girl under the age of 13, the department said, in a release.

After an initial investigation, a member from a multidisciplinary team made up of members of the Woodstock Police Department’s Investigation Division, the McHenry County Child Advocacy Center (CAC), and the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s office met at the CAC.
The CAC conducted a forensic interview with the child, during which the victim informed them that the suspect had committed an act of sexual assault on her during multiple occasions.

According to the police department, the suspect was identified as a then 35-year-old Pollet, who is known by the victim’s family. The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s office, approved aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse charges against him. On January 3rd, 2018, Pollet was arrested on Jan. 3, 2018 at the Walworth County Courthouse in Walworth, Wisconsin, while in court for a separate case.
The case was investigated by members of the Woodstock Police Department, and was prosecuted by Sharyl Eisenstein and Mary Ann Scholl of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s office.
