ALSIP-CRESTWOOD, IL — For people who don’t want the hassle of cooking or cleaning up after a big turkey dinner, several restaurants in the Oak Lawn area are open on Thanksgiving Day, which is on Nov. 28 this year.
As always, Patch encourages you to call any restaurant on this list in advance to double-check hours on Thanksgiving Day, as many vary by location. Here are the local restaurants that plan to be open. Don’t forget to tip your server:

Barraco’s, 3701 W. 95th St., Evergreen Park — Has a Thanksgiving dinner package starting at $125 (decreased from 2023), including a 10-12 pound turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, a dozen rolls, cranberries and pie. Other catered packages are also offered, as well as individual turkey dinners for pickup and delivery. Everything is served hot and ready to eat. Order catered packages asap. Barraco’s will be offering a dining-in buffet on Thanksgiving Day for $30 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Reservations required for dining in, call 708-424-8182. Please note that all other Baracco’s locations will be closed on Thanksgiving.
Chuck’s Southern Comfort Cafe, 6501 S. 79th St., Burbank — Chuck’s is offering an all-you-can-eat Thanksgiving buffet for dining in from noon to 4 p.m., Nov. 28. $42 for adults; $17 kids 4-12; children under 3 are free. Reservations required, 708-229-8700.

Cooper’s Hawk, 4830 W 111th St, Oak Lawn – Chef Matt McMillin has planned an amazing "heat & serve" package with all the delicious flavors and trimmings for your Thanksgiving table for $199.99. Harvest Room, 7164 W. 127th St., Palos Heights – Harvest Room will be serving Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reservations are REQUIRED, 708- 671-8905 or reserve online. No reservation, no dinner.
Jenny’s Steakhouse and Pub, 11041 S. Menard Ave., Chicago Ridge — Jenny's is serving catered feasts for 8 to 12 people for pick-up, $175. Order now. A family-style dining-in option for families/parties of 6 or more, adults $39, under 12, $18. Select dining-in dinners are also offered. Jedi’s Garden, 9266 S. Cicero Ave., Oak Lawn — Jedi’s Garden will be serving turkey (and other entrees) all day Thanksgiving – until the turkey runs out. You can also order carryout. Call 708-499-4545.
Eddie Merlot’s Steakhouse, 201 Bridewell Drive, Burr Ridge – Eddie Merlot’s will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thanksgiving Day and serving a special, three-course, turkey dinner with all the trimmings, as well as our dinner menu full of signature items. Adults $49, children $24. If you are celebrating the holiday at home, place your pre-order online and have your holiday meal available for takeout or delivery, prepared by us ready for you to take and warm at home. Our three-course Thanksgiving take-and-warm options are portioned for 5 or 10 people. Available for pickup 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 27, or 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. -Thursday Nov. 28 and will be picked up cold with reheating instructions. Several national chain restaurants with a presence in Illinois will also be open on Thanksgiving Day, according to lists curated by delish, Good Housekeeping and USA Today. They offer a range of dining experiences, from fine dining to fast casual to fast food. In some cases, you’ll need to make a reservation, so plan ahead as much as possible.
Applebee’s: Hours and participation varies by location.
Black Angus Steakhouse: Restaurants will be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. with a limited menu that includes a turkey dinner.
Bob Evans: Most stores will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Bravo! Italian Kitchen: Restaurants are open regular hours and will serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner along with an ala carte menu with Italian favorites. Order-ahead options are also available.
Brio Italian Grille: Restaurants will be open from 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
Buffalo Wild Wings: Hours may vary by location.
Burger King: Hours may vary by location.
Chart House: Three-course meal options on the restaurant’s Thanksgiving menu include a turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, stuffing and all the trimmings. Order-ahead options are available.
Cracker Barrel: The restaurant will be open during normal hours, with a limited Thanksgiving menu starting at 11 a.m. Order-ahead options are available.
Del Frisco’s Grille: Most locations will be open from 12 p.m.-9 p.m. In the past, the restaurant has offered a three-course turkey dinner. Order-ahead options are available.
Domino’s Pizza: Stores aren’t required to, but some individual locations may choose to be open on Thanksgiving.
Denny’s: The restaurant will be open during regular hours.
Eddie V’s: The prime seafood restaurant will be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. In the past, the restaurant has had a special Thanksgiving menu with turkey and pumpkin pie.
Firehouse Subs: Hours may vary by location.
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar: Restaurants are open from 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
Fogo de Chão: Restaurants will be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
Golden Corral: The buffet will offer all-you-can-eat fresh carved turkey and other Thanksgiving fare.

Maggiano’s Little Italy: The restaurant will be open during regular hours for dine-in and carryout, but also offers catering options.
McCormick and Schmick’s: In addition to its regular dinner menu, the restaurant will offer a traditional turkey dinner. Order-ahead options are available.
McDonald’s: Hours may vary by location.
Morton’s the Steakhouse: The restaurant is offering a four-course Thanksgiving meal for dine-in guests, as well as order-ahead and catering options.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House: Reservations are strongly encouraged as the restaurant observes extended hours on Thanksgiving. Guests can choose a multi-course Thanksgiving dinner or order from the steak menu. A complete Thanksgiving meal or sides can be pre-ordered.
Seasons 52: The restaurant will be open regular hours and offers a traditional Thanksgiving meal for dine-in or pre-order.
Sizzler: Most locations will be open and will serve a traditional turkey dinner.

Steak ’N Shake: Stores are open regular hours.
